Sex Offender Registration

I have looked up and read stuff about the sex offender laws in Alabama....I am in Madison County.  My boyfriend and I are wanting him to move here with me and he has a conviction of Statutory Rape on his record....the record says attempted rape and he was convicted and done time for this....he was 22 and the girl was 17....he plead guilty only because of her age....they were dating at the time and her parents pressed charges because of his age.....His conviction was in 1995, 12 years ago.....now as I read the registration guidelines it stated nothing about ATTEMPTED RAPE.  Does he have to register as a Sex Offender if he moves here to Alabama with me??  I am a divorced mother of 2...will this play a toll on me in anyway as far as having a life and family with him??

Re: Sex Offender Registration

Always error on the side of safety.  Have him register.  As long as you are willing to go through the hoops this will not prevent you from living your life except that the neighbors will know his past.
