I have a question about the laws in Maryland. My question is my father just recently died on 9/09/07 and My Sister and I are his only biological children. My mother was his first wife and He is married to another woman which left him recently for about a year and a half. We were also told that there is a possibility that he filed for divorce from this woman, Is there a way to find this out? I want to know what our rights are concerning his possessions, his insurance policies and anything in that effect? His wife refuses to let us know anything and I would like to know what I can do. She would not even let us be involved in planning his funeral. Please let me know what steps I need to take and thank you in advance for your assistance.
