I am the aunt of a 2 year old.  Father of child is deployed until the end of next year, mother of child is joing the service.  The mother is wanting to leave child with me.  Which I don't have a proble with.  Howeer, I need to know legally what I need from her that gives me rights to take care of the child ie: medical, daycare etc.  since I'm not the "parent".  I just want to have all my t's cross before she leaves, once she is gone there isn't any getting in touch with her to sign anything.  Main concern is that the child is protected along with myself and my family.  I hope I explained the issue well enough.
