Bad Checks

Is there a statute of limitations in regards to some bad checks that were written in Las Vegas?.....I did not make my 2nd Court appearance and that was five years ago.......I am sure that I have a bench warrant, but I am driving looking over my shoulder every day in California.............Any suggestions what I should do?

Re: Bad Checks

It is in your best interest to act proactively.  By missing your second court appearance you put yourself in problematic position with the court.  There should be a bench warrant issued and if you are picked up, your life will not be fun.  Right now, you have the ability to address your case voluntarily which will allow you to maintain control, save some face in the bond hearing, and earn some responsibility points with your judge - however, you lost alot of credibility going on the lamb.  Contact a criminal attorney to pull your current legal status on this case, file a notice of apearrance and confront the accusations.  If you need a recommendation on a criminal attorney in neveda just email the county and your contact information to joseph@truelawyers.com
