CHANGING BUSINESS ENTITY

I registered my business as an S-Corp at the advice of my SBA rep in 1999.  Since then, I have realized this was a mistakem given the size and nature of my business.  I would like to change my entity type to either an LLC or a not-for-profit.  I am a training and employment consultant / career coach.

Is this something that I can take care of on my own, or do I need an attorney and an accountant?

Thank you.
