A few years ago a case was opened because a little girl was molested by her grandfather when she was 5. It went to court and a judgement was issued in the amount of 60000 dollars. yet the only way this could be paid was if the man was served with papers.  to make a long story short everytime someone tryed to serve him he denined them or was gone by the time someone got there to serve him in person. the childs mother had to pay each couple of years to keep the case going just in case she could find him and serve him. well back in 2002 the lawyer contacted the childs mother and told her that he needed so much or he would have to close the case. she didnt pay because she did not have the money. my question is can the case be reopened?

there was  a judgement awarded yet could not be collected because they could not find the grandfather. the case was opened in north carolina back in 93' i believe. i have the file and all the fact. does it mean that the case is never really closed entill the money is collected. in which case i just need to find another attorney? because i the last attorney no longer has the case because the mother did not pay. can the reward still be collected in that case as long as the grandfater is found?  im not very good with the legal aspect of the file so im not sure what exacly to look for in 'action was commenced'
